Our Connection to the Earth

Humans have an incredible energy system that accompanies the dense physical form. Our bodies are filled with blood, bones, tissue, organs, cells, and DNA but what makes all of that work? Our energetic body helps us to navigate the mortal experience with a complex chakra system, vertical power current, hara and seven layers to the auric field. Our soul body is infinite and made up of connective tissue which represents hope, cells which represent divine love and peace- that fills the core of the soul body. When we are developing in our mother’s womb our soul body sets into place with chakras, hara, and the vertical power current. The vertical power current runs all the way up to Source and all the way down to the center of the Earth with the chakras hooking into the energetic chord like tubular flowers. The flowers or circular wheels – chakras open up about an inch outside of the body. The first chakra inserts at the perineum directly into the vertical power current and opens to the Earth below. Like the seventh chakra it is singular. It governs all that we need like food, clothing shelter and survival. The second chakra is both on the front side – belly and low back. This chakra represents relationships, sexuality, and that gut feeling- clairsentience. The third chakra is also front and back side at the solar plexus and mid back. This chakra represents our personal power, how we relate to others, and community. The fourth chakra is the heart located at the center of the chest and upper back. This is the passion connection and represents all aspects of love. The fifth chakra is located at the throat and mid neck. This chakra helps us to communicate as well as hear each other. It is the center for clairaudience and our ability to hear voices and the unseen world. The sixth chakra inserts at the forehead known as the third eye and the back of the head. It governs all our thinking and is home to clairvoyance, our ability to see the unseen world. The seventh chakra is located at the top of the head and inserts into the vertical power current with the chakra facing the sky. It is your spiritual connection to Source. Running along the side of the vertical power current is the hara line. This grounding wire keeps us on Earth and connects to the tanden or belly hara. The hara is located about an inch above the second chakra insertion of the vertical power current. Like an egg this powerful point of your energy body is the gateway to the cosmos. The hara line stays connected to Source and the Earth. When we depart this life our chakras fold back into the soul body along with the vertical power current. The hara line takes us back to Creator as the tanden opens and makes passage for our soul body.

The seven layers of the auric field reflect all the seven chakras. Why is it important to ground our energy? We live far from the surface of the planet now. Walking on concrete, living in high rise buildings, disconnected from the natural world that we have relied on since the beginning of humankind. We have evolved and yet lost our responsibility for managing our energy. Have you ever walked down the street and a homeless person sitting on the sidewalk begging for money tugged at your energy? That is your first chakra responding with a survival alarm. You feel bad for them and turn around and return with money, coffee, or a kind word. Another example is second chakra energy. A person walks down the street, everyone is noticing them. You can’t take your eyes off them but also note they are not super attractive. What is it that has everyone connecting with them as they walk down the street? Their second chakra is not grounded. That sexual energy is oozing out and connecting with all the other ungrounded second chakra vibe creating a storm of misdirected feelings. Why does it matter that we manage our energy and not run it here, there, and everywhere? Because we are creating more karma. The karma wheel spins every time we hook up our energy with others. For example, your friend is angry, and you get triggered by their story and join in with the anger you feel. Your energy leaps out of your third chakra and connects with theirs. Like a perfect storm you just spun the karma wheel one more time. If we ground that anger into the Earth (she can take it) and not engage others with our upset, we avoid creating more karma. This takes discipline and a serious meditation practice. Why does it matter if we are creating more karma? The mission statement for humanity is to love at the deepest level of our beings. We are meant to love everyone as much as we love our own families, friends, children, and pets. We are here to clear our karma, or unresolved emotional wounds and reach a state of nirvana. Individual karma is your personal story. Lifetimes of emotional wounds that repeat like complex patterns. The collective karma is also unresolved emotional wounds that we share as a world community. War, famine, and natural disasters create fear, shock, betrayal, anger, resentment, and abandonment. We cleverly disguise our lifetimes by having amnesia when we are born. Not remembering where we have been or what our karma is keeps us preoccupied with our emotional experience defaulting to the victim or bully. We continue to run energy with others based on our karma. The management of your energy is as important as taking care of your physical body.

One of the most effect ways to ground your energy is to imagine your nervous system like a great tree inside your body. Yggdrasill is the tree of life in Norse mythology and reflects the center of the universe. This is the nervous system inside your body. In my new oracle ‘Odin and the Nine Realms’ I describe the great tree. It holds all nine realms. Think of that inside your own body – you hold the universe within your physical form. It is up to each person to take responsibility and ground their energy. One easy exercise is to feel the nerves in your feet growing down into the ground like roots. Ask for Earth energy to rise into your nerves filling the entire nervous system or tree in your body. The Earth’s energy is why we are here! We come from the Earth, and we return to the Earth. Grounding the energy from each chakra is critical for not incurring more karma in this lifetime. It allows us the clarity to stay in the center and not react with emotional responses, engaging our energy with others and creating more karma. Each month on zoom I guide the Meditation Peace Project in my signature grounding meditation and help participants to expand into peace. It is important to understand we live in duality -measuring everything through the filter of good, bad, right, and wrong. This polarization keeps us in a karmic cycle as we try to justify and make sense of who we are. The key is we can also step out of duality and become the observer. Maintaining a state of inner peace allows us the experience that we have always been connected to Source. There is no separation, only our belief in the illusion we have created.
